There is an Android app called TorrCrow (you can get it it from CNet Downloads, but I don't know how trustworthy they are these days) that does a meta search across a whole bunch of torrent networks, then lets you pass the magnet link to your torrent client. If you install something like Transmission on your media server and Transmission Remote on your phone, you could search from your couch and download directly to your library.

I don't know which stupid content you refer to, but on a torrent site, I always look for something specific: be it a movie, a series, etc. I had the pleasure to discover hundreds of unfindable movies. No platform can match such a catalogue.

Using a good client like qBittorrent with a reputable VPN, like ProtonVPN, is highly recommended for privacy protection.
Proton has an article on setting up qBittorrent with their VPN incl. port forwarding (only supported on paid plans). You’ll also need to set up port forwarding on your router, either manually or enable UPnP (recommended to disable again afterwards).

@cheetah_spottycat i use a private tracker to find any content, for download qBittorrent, and to view everything Plex over WiFi in any device at home.
The private tracker its the key. Its a comunity of people who uploads a lot of content. I am part of this one like 12 years allready. Its also the hard part, because the best ones are invite only or like mine closed to new members now.

@cheetah_spottycat I'm here with you. At the same time I'm feeling bad downloading illegally (stealing) movies. I did that with music in the past, but music streaming (tidal) became so good, that it's simply not worth it. We tried video streaming (mainly netflix), but it's rather disappointing. Maybe we could find a way of channeling contributions directly to the artist even if we watch movies illegally? For example through @jellyfin add-on that'd offer Donate button for every movie you watch?

I've recently started using usenet and it's been worth every penny. It has a great selection, crazy speeds, and I don't have to worry about the number of seeders.
