I cannot believe how much tech they pack into these disposable vapes now. You're just supposed to throw this away when it's done!

It's open. It's very similar to the last disposable vape I tore down except for the fancy display and a differently shaped battery

If I'm reading things right, it has a 32-bit ARM Cortex chip. Crazy that people are super to just throw these away

@RueNahcMohr @acsawdey Just go look on the floor of the restroom of your local dive bar. that's where I found this one

@RueNahcMohr @MLE_online @acsawdey https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/Microcontroller-Units-MCUs-MPUs-SOCs_PUYA-PY32F030F28P6TU_C3018716.html looks like they are around $0.25 in quantity. I don’t see anything about flash fuses or encrypted firmware, so they can probably be reflashed if you have access to the SWD pins. Seems like there’s a development setup template here: https://github.com/IOsetting/py32f0-template

@stoneymonster @RueNahcMohr @MLE_online @acsawdey I used a Puya PY32F002A for my Hack Man SAO - they are decently powerful and can be programmed with SWD interface using the free ARM Keil uVision IDE. They are essentially very similar to the STM 32

@InstantArcade but they're not attached to a vape. Imagine what you could do! A vape controlling a pixel purse display, for instance

@InstantArcade @rrmutt I've been wanting to use the other vape as an input device for a very silly video game idea.
It only turns on the heating element when you apply negative pressure to the electret microphone element, so I thought, why not make a video game that sucks?
Imagine a spaghetti themed video game where you have to suck on a fake spaghetti noodle. The longer you suck, the higher your score is. As long as you keep sucking, the score bar keeps going up. And while you're doing that, it plays an electronic version of largo al factotum plays.
Whoever sucks the spaghetti noodle longest gets the highest score
