🤔 If the 9572 I put on the carrier was 5V, not 3.3V, it wouldn't have replied to the jtag...

oh, there is a 555 and room for a 24Cxx chip on the back.

I'm getting a nice collection of them. The back one is a TQ64, I accidentally designed the first board for the wrong chip. (WTF?!) but picked up other improvements when I did the redesign.

I had another XC9572 that I recovered from e-waste, so I spent some time mounting it to one of my carrier boards, but a pin didn't set properly and in the process or reworking it, I lifted a pad, so I pulled it off and put it on another pcb, but it wouldn't answer jtag.
So I took an old one I transferred that refused to program, reflowed the chip and it was fine. I finished the pcb and am enjoying the lights.
But I used 510R resistors instead of 2.2k, so the cameras exposure is dialed down to minimum for this video (its BRIGHT)
LED colours are randomly mixed cause its not a commercial project!

It didn't go perfect, I broke the vise and the lock screw stripped, but then wouldn't come out.

ok, I had the idea, I built it, now time will tell.
Yes, there are some sold online, but they are not at all as large and strong as this one.

Poor mans keying, wow, I really missed the angle on the handle side :/

THIS one is what I want, thats a plain old HD44780 display.
It might even still work.

So it turns out, I'm going to run away. This thing is crazy and I want nothing to do with it. They integrated a keyboard controller and really seem to have made a mess

The phone comes to life and after using

This is a BIX strip, its a type of IDC connector. IDC stands for "I Don't Care", so you can use use something like this random piece of plastic to jab in this random type of wire and it will work just as well as with anything else.
Pair 1 on this is extension 21.

This is a "616" phone system, the model number tells you about it.
"616" means "every time there is a power bump I'm going to lose all my programming cause I'm freaking 34 years old already"
When you see them run, don't walk, away.
