I have received an email inviting me to the Kaiser Permanente National Liver, LGBTQ+, Infectious Disease, Transplant, STI (LIFTS) Health Conference.
What a collection of topics. This is the conference equivalent of one of those kind of unions that represents Pipefitters, Diesel Mechanics, Tennis Instructors, Candy Pullers, and High Voltage Line Technicians.

I read a NY Times interview with Curtis Yarvin, that Dark Englightenment philosopher so popular with fascistic tech CEOs, expecting to see the mind of some evil genius at work.
Honestly he was pretty underwhelming as a thinker. I usually feel way out of my depth with these "big thinkers" but I didn't see anything he said that I couldn't have poked a ton of holes in. A lot of what he says seems to come down to some version of, "I dunno, that's just, like, what I feel, ok?"
The Times interviewer sucked, too. He pressed Yarvin on specifics that seemed like irrelevant sideshows while letting him slide with some really inane arguments.

The local rag-and-bone men have discovered my little street in the last week and keep coming back here to look through our dumpsters for anything useful.
I'm glad they are scavenging things that might otherwise go to waste, but now I have to lock up all the stuff I keep in my yard so it doesn't walk away with them.

Dreamt I was with some friends on a trek to find a man in Africa who had some important papers we needed because they entitled us to a small fortune.
We had to traverse a swamp infested with many bad things, so I was standing atop a floating wooden door and pushing myself forward with a pole.
The door barely stayed above the water though, so when some crocodiles resting on the bank saw me and slipped into the water, I knew I was in trouble.
I jumped onto the roof of a partially submerged van, but then I was stuck there as the crocodiles circled in the water below.
