Here's an example of the panels in use - driven by a micro running CircuitPython

If you want/need a 32x16 RGB pixel panel and some alkaline batteries, the Mc2 Pixel Purse is on discount at amazon again. $8.99 at the time of writing this. I've deconstructed several for the panels, and at this price it's worth it.

I hadn't heard of #bufferbloat until a few days ago, but we'd been having terrible Internet issues since we dropped my #Netgear CM500 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem in favor of a newer DOCSIS 3.1 #Spectrum one.
My router didn't have very sophisticated #QOS, so I switched to a #GL.iNet one that has substantially improved traffic shaping.
Initial test look good.
I wonder if there was some kind of QOS at the modem level on the cm500 that's not on the Spectrum one.

Having a laser cutter is great for rapid prototyping.
I needed a generator interlock plate for my power panel, but I wasn't able to find one with the right configuration.
A bit of measuring and I designed a prototype which I've temporarily fashioned from cardboard as I tweak the final dimensions.

Just finished reading Revenger by Alastair Reynolds.
A slow starter and I wasn't really sure about it, but it picked up the pace and was pretty decent in the end. On to the second book now.
Also discovered he's from Barry - Tidy!

Crazy that Walmart has all the flashlights locked up behind glass (even the $2 ones), yet I can pick up a $40 machete off the rack down the same aisle.

Such a great documentary from 1978.
Stand out things are, in general, how happy people running their own businesses seem.
Also, Sir Clive Sinclair at 37 (I think they said), looking like he's already in his late 50s.

Just watched this episode of The Tube from 1982 that someone uploaded.
Standout things are how great the live performances (mini concerts) of Yazoo and The Go-Gos are, and also seeing Harry Perry on Venice Blvd way back then.
Also interesting to wee Jools Holland, Paula Yates, etc. Stumbling through what I think was the UK's first ever live show, and try to look like they were so punk they didn't GaF.
Surreal stuff.

Just loaned the new Brandon Sanderson book Wind and Truth as an audiobook.
I have 20 days to listen to it before I need to return it but it's 71 hours long!!!!
Guess I'm going on some long walks.

I bit the bullet and added face sorting so that I can do convex objects. It's not super clever, but it will draw all camera facing triangles in Z-order. This means that triangles at the back will be overwritten by ones at the front.
Here's the model in blender.

I've skipped ahead a bit here, but I've implemented:
Hidden face removal.
Triangle filling.
Flat lighting/shading.
Also tested with a slightly more complicated object (Icosphere).
This is still running on my #P5JS matrix sim. But I will backport it to C++ on my matrix later.

Spent about 4 hours debugging an algorithm that worked in one example, but did not work properly in the ported version.
Thought it might be a precision error, so painstaking logged all the data from both sides, then recreated the algorithm a 3rd time and both sets of data worked.
Scratching my head and went for a snack.
Came back and immediately noticed I was multiplying by an x component instead of a y component in the non-working version. Doh!

Anyway, I finally took it apart when it already in the 'dead' state, and noticed that it came back to life when I was fiddling with ribbon cable connecting the top shell to the rest of the mouse.
I unlatched it and fully reseated it and it's been fine for days now.
A really odd problem, but I might have actually fixed it.
