People voted for Trump to raise prices. In his first hours, Trump rescinded Biden's rules that delivered lower prices for medications to those on #medicare and #medicaid. On day one, Trump is delivering higher prices. Yet, I don't see much outcry from Conservatives. It's almost as if this wasn't ever about inflation or prices.

@augieray There’s not outcry because that’s not what the Executive Order does. You’re a good guy, and I like a lot of the things you post here, but we can’t just be out there saying things that aren’t true. What Trump stopped was an EO that asked HHS to look and see whether or not some testing that HHS did in the past might lower costs. The cost lowering provisions of IRA are not touched by this.

@rlpaulprodn @augieray Doesn't the US have the highest drug prices in the world? Surely that can be addressed so that it falls to the middle of the pack.

@human3500 @augieray That’s what the IRA’s negotiation portion does. Biden worked super hard to get it, but got no credit for it. Regardless, that’s not what I was writing about. My point is that the executive order Trump signed yesterday does not do what Augie says it does. It doesn’t raise prices. It stops a study to look at whether another study might someday lower prices.

@rlpaulprodn @augieray Can we agree it's a step towards maintaining our raising prices (since the outcome of the study might lower prices)?

I just hope the US can hold its democracy together. I'm not optimistic.

@rlpaulprodn Media reports say this will raise drug prices. I think you are TECHNICALLY correct but perhaps ignoring the IMPACT of what Trump has rescinded.

@augieray

We need to start putting stickers on gas pumps with Trump pointing at the price saying "I did that." Fight fire with fire.

@augieray I always say when a right leaning party and voters invent cost of living crisis, it is not about living, it is about cost of luxuries and any perceived impacts on their wealth. So their solutions are always tax cuts, privatisation, deregulation, exploitation and distraction, nothing to do with actual cost of living for someone actually in crisis struggling to get by day to day. Unfortunately people in that situation are easy pray for these conmen.

@augieray Remember when the GOP said that EOs are unconstitutional every time Obama and Biden issued them? What changed? Kinda like voter fraud just disappearing. What happened to it?
