The weather this morning in West Wales is cloudy and grey, but it is not raining! It’s about 5 degrees Celsius and I’m heading out for a walk.

@helenclayton much the same as you in Bristol but a few degrees warmer.

@allysseriordan oh that is a shock! I don’t work Mondays or Fridays. I’m ok with working the occasional Monday but Fridays are pretty non-negotiable 😁

This one is to make up for me not going on the 2nd of Jan, so really I can't complain too much.

Still, it does throw me a bit when I end up at my desk on a Friday doing work things rather than fun things.

My walk was lovely. I was going to do a longer hike but I’ve enjoyed a bimble around this nature reserve. It’s a wonderful place. Having a spot of lunch then I might even have another bimble.

Cloudy and dry Helen and we are about to head for the Mablethope area to a place called Donna Nook where the Seals have their pups.

I hope the Seals are there but the drive though the Vale of Belvoir is worth it anyway.

@helenclayton Grey, but not too cold. Not sure of the temperature, but "warm enough for me to be out in a jumper and hoodie, but for Alfred to be cold in just a hoodie". A highly scientific scale of temperature, I'm sure you agree.

Our landscape is snowy but melty. There's a misty fog rising from the fields as the temperatures begin to climb from 14°F last night to a possible 36°F midday today. Currently: it's predawn, dark, and has that mystical feel with all the fog.

We're still enjoying the novelty of green fields after last week's white. There were smells underneath that snow that Rosey is now very keen to sniff.

@helenclayton Seems very similar here (Central New York State). I'm currently in bed with my legs tucked under the electric blanket. I've never tried a hot water bottle but I keep thinking about them as I wiggle my chilly toes inside the socks.

@Starry1086 that sounds cozy! I recommend a hot water bottle though. I don’t know about you but once my toes are cold it’s very difficult to get them warm again, however thick the socks.

@Starry1086 ah yes, boiling water could be a bit perilous, though I only use hot water. Wheat bags that microwave are good too. We didn’t have a microwave until last year so have been using a wheat bag recently.

It's 29°F and the sun is not yet up, but I've been told it will be returning to the sky in an hour so and be at least partially visible all day! I have to work in a bit, but after that I'm going to go look for some kingfishers.
