Spring bulbs are starting to reveal themselves in the garden. It’s exciting to see what flowers will pop up and where. I was hoping that there would be snowdrops somewhere.
The only bulbs I’ve planted myself are in a container and I think a mouse or a squirrel has been at them!

I wasn’t planning on eating my cinnamon bun in a bird hide (probably frowned upon) but as soon as I opened a window I was joined by a robin (word gets around) so it would be rude not to share.

In the words of the late David Lynch #RIP, it’s a Friday once again. Can you believe it!!!
The weather this morning in West Wales is cloudy and grey, but it is not raining! It’s about 5 degrees Celsius and I’m heading out for a walk.
What’s the weather report from your part of the world?

On a whim when Christmas shopping I bought a tea towel with lovely illustrations depicting the full moons of 2025. Though now I have my ‘fancy tea towel dilemma’ of whether to use, display or keep safe in a drawer. Of course I totally forgot about it until realising that tonight was the first full moon of the year.
It’s too cloudy here to see the Stay Home moon, aka Wolf Moon or Moon after Yule, so enjoy this photo of the tea towel instead!

I made some muffins today so thought I’d ‘nip’ up the footpath with some to thank the egg man. Met his wife and a small grandperson, who immediately took charge of the muffins. Small person was fascinated by my walking leggings and kept stroking them, much to granny’s embarrassment. Going back through neighbouring farm, its young border collie decided to follow me home so I had to take her back. Another long chat ensued and also cuddles with the farm cat. Got zero else done but it was nice.

When I was driving home this afternoon I was aware of a small, sporty type car on my tail, flashing its headlights at me. I could see that it was a lad driving but I refused to be intimidated and slowed for all the speed restrictions. I was getting a bit pissed off though so I eventually pulled into a farm shop carpark. I was alarmed that they followed me…only to very politely ask if I knew that one of my brake lights was out. 🤦♀️

I’d like to see this from the inside another time, along with the other windows in St Caranog church, Llangrannog. A very pretty church, well hidden from coastal invaders!
This window is aptly named ‘Hope’.

A fine example of a recreational gate, with bonus miniature balancing pony.

A walk along Ceredigion coast path blew some cobwebs away today. A lovely remote and rugged section from Cwmtydu to Llangrannog then back inland along quiet lanes and wooded paths, 10 miles in all. Mostly cloudy but the snow topped peaks of Eryri and the Llŷn peninsula were gleaming in sunshine.

A smudgy pic of a reed bunting from yesterday. I can’t seem to get a decent bird pic lately.
Currently trying and failing to outmanoeuvre the squirrels that are pinching the food I put out for our garden birds.

Some more pics from icy Cors Caron today.
There were some water birds on the main pond but the windows in the hide were all fogged up (and short-arse here couldn’t see over the screen outside)!
