So, conservatives are concerned about nine (yes the number nine) wind turbines which will be equal to the power output of a giant fucked dam project that took forever and had a huge negative environmental impact while drought only increasing........because they claim to be worried about "birds".

Our province forrest industry literally mows down thousands acres of trees a year.

How fucking stupid are we? (Don't answer that.)

@brianleroux If they're worried about birds I assume they're going to ban outdoor cats, then? Number one killer of wild birds and it's not even close.

@swart @brianleroux

That chart is meaningless in this discussion.

Cats kill small birds, sparrows etc but not big raptors like Black Harriers.

Wind turbines kill the endandered Black Harriers. Conservationists are trying to find a solution so that we can keep the turbines and save the harriers from extinction.

@ThePiper @brianleroux six birds killed out of a total population of maybe a thousand birds β€” it's really hard to make any generalizations with numbers this small. So many species are at risk now.

@swart @ThePiper have either of you seen a clearcut? i'm pretty sure birds like to live in trees. a shocking percentage of BC is reserved for forrestry. if anyone actually cared about the birds this would probably a topic.
