My goal was going to be 180 different species. Which to me sounded like a lot.

But then I talked to this hardcore birding lady and she told me that 200 is easy.

I’ve started to count the species of birds I’ve observed this year in Sweden.

So far 51 or 52 depending on how you count the bean goose sub species. 😅

In the south of Sweden right now to spend New Year with family. They live close to the sea so of course I had to go there.

Was hard birding though since I didn’t have my scope.

Saw dark ducks. Could have been Scooters of some kind. But hard to be sure.

Om det står att hunden ska vara kopplad så ska den vara kopplad. Det betyder inte att den får springa fritt om den är ”snäll”.

Ja, jag är lite sur på er, ägarna till Edward, som lät honom springa fram och tillbaka och jaga alla fåglar vid matningen på Djurgården nu på morgonen.

Do you see the little black bird in the water?

That’s a Moorhen.

This is in the middle of the city and I’m not sure why this bird prefers to be here. But it has hung around for more than three weeks now.

I’ve seen reports about a Tawny Owl who lives in an old oak on the west side of Stockholm.

I headed there today. Took a while to find the right oak but suddenly. There it was.

So cute! 💚🦉
