On this last night of the imperfect but democratic administration of the American government, I’m baking - a pie. Apple, with a french butter crust. I can’t sit without getting uncomfortable, so baking is my safe space. With music. :flying_hearts: :azarigani_dancing:

I scored a couple of goodies at that White Elephant Sale thing yesterday. I volunteer there in the non-stemware glass section, but there are all sorts of other vintagey things sold.

Got some fine, fancy espresso cup for husband guy, and a particularly choice glass vessel, formerly from the Kodak photography company. Other miscellaneous bits & bobs.

Grateful for you gloriously inspiring & engaging lot. I’m pretty freaked out about the road ahead, nationally, and globally. Might be slightly safer in this lovely but reviled liberal city, but that’s just me & mine. A giant tree downhill from my house is being felled. The big, shaggy tree was home to a population of squirrels and birds, itself a beautiful sight in every season. But, it seems it was old and wasn’t healthy. And now it’s gone. I’m glad to have a picture.

Last night I made (started) pizza dough. First a chaotically shaggy mess, then an elastic mess, then shiny elastic blob. This morning it’s a huge bubble monster. I need to intervene and fold away those bubbles 🫧, awaken the elastic glutens, then cut the thing apart into quarters for a chill session.
