@alysonsee What has really frayed in the pandemic is our connection to the community of Buddhist oldsters we used to hang out with once or twice a week. Now some of these friends are losing mobility, losing health care, and having to leave homes they can no longer afford or manage. Many have very weak family ties, so there’s often no one there to catch their fall. Unless the slightly younger oldsters like ourselves rebuild and maintain these found-family connections.
