We’ve talked for at least a decade about retiring in Mexico. Both to try to make our small nest egg last and because we both prefer the culture there. With the US sliding further into hell, yes, there’s an extra impetus. And yet…

It now feels like we have a responsibility to stay.

But a responsibility has to be expressed in action. We’re fairly healthy but my wife is 72. What do we do in these times that is grounded, humble, connected, and not some egotistical fantasy? That’s the discussion.

I crashed my laptop yesterday so badly it wouldn't reboot. I was terrified, but after a few hours reading the Internet I worked out how to fix it. #Linux people rock and they do it online.

I made it safely to my physical therapy appointment during a blizzard this morning and got my ass kicked by the PT.

I made it back home without crashing into anything, which was unfortunately more than many people I saw on the road could say. 20 min trip took a full hour.

I’ve also observed that that power and belief in their own genius makes people who once were able to think into very sloppy, unclear thinkers. They start to become quite stupid and credulous.

I’m inclined to think these fascist plutocrats intentionally say stupid things to try to prove that words don’t matter any more. They want us to know they’ve conquered the truth. That they have so much wealth and power now they can casually make their own drunken truth and force us to engage with obvious lies.

Haven’t been able to drink coffee in a couple weeks. The COVID seems to have reconfigured my sense of taste so my once favorite coffee now tastes like charcoal mixed with petrochemicals. I was accustomed to drinking several cups a day. 😩☕️
