@evacide the idea is that people (and by extension, their family and genes) matter more than ideas. Ideas lead to ideals, and those are hard to deal with. A person has to use cognitive energy to tackle ideas, but if you can look at someone and know that they are "a good person" you can just trust them and what they do. It is easy. Fascism is enticing, we need to understand that. The work of being a moral person is difficult.
