@SteveSawczyn I think so about the people that want an audience having their own instances. I don’t think you’re over simplifying the issue, but it’s a very complex issue because, aside from the technical, you’ve got opposing philosophies to deal with. For example, the people that have open and unrestricted registrations even though their instances are huge. If you get more members, you get more people willing to donate to keep your massive instance operational but this leads to the current spam problem where even if you ban a user, they’ll just make another account. I don’t know how you would solve that issue
