Putting aside the fact this feels exploitative more than inclusive to me, these kinds of moves never amount to anything long term. You really don't need data to make a service work better if you have input from disabled users- Oh fuck it. Tech hates collaboration without data.
I can't describe this kind of exploitation well but these kinds of things almost never want to improve the infrastructure, only the particular product or company vision or corporate mission.
There's got to be a phrase for this kind of monetary ableism. Our disabilities make these people money.
This is why tech feels worse. It's all about extraction, and data.
Today, Microsoft announced a new collaboration with Be My Eyes to bring high-quality, disability representative data to help train AI systems. This work with Be My Eyes will help make Microsoft AI models more inclusive for the 340 million people in the world who are blind or have low vision and is the latest step in our commitment to build inclusive technology.

Now I have a profile picture, I am on #BlueSky because I use @bsky.brid.gy apparently, the reason why the block was happening was because I did not have a profile picture. Apparently, you absolutely need one for the bot to work properly. Now it is working as it should, but blue sky folks will not see this edit. Oh well.

Gave @getkirby a try and, while I only had access to the demo for about an hour, some Accessibility thoughts.
The navigation is very smooth. I didn't find many problematic areas except for buttons appearing to be split into two elements but do the same action, like, for example, there will be an unlabeled button right next to the edit button but that unlabeled edit button still leads to the edit button.
Radio buttons are read nicely! Almost all form fields are labeled nicely for posting content, except for the forms where I had to actually write post bodies.
To post, you first choose a block. I genuinely don't understand how this is more intuitive than taking 5 minutes to learn some #Markdown but anyway, after you pick a block, another dialog opens where you actually do the writing. This is the most problematic. The more than a few unlabeled buttons above the text areas appear to be formatting buttons but I was unable to tell, when picking the, markdown block, for example.
When I picked a heading block, I was to pick what heading level I wanted, and this was very accessible, but when it came time to save my block, somehow, I kept missing the save button or whatever that would actually add the block when I'm all done.
Other than that, with a few accessibility tweaks and attention, this could be a great CMS for static sites and otherwise. This is just a personal thing, but I just could not get the hang of blocks. I like writing text and going back up to review it and so on. Still, this CMS is far more accessible than I had assumed.

Oh look, BirdChan at it again!
Soon we’ll be launching a change to how the block function works.
If your posts are set to public, accounts you have blocked will be able to view them, but they will not be able to engage (like, reply, repost, etc.).

I know there’s a lot of newcomers to the Fediverse, that want an audience instead of a community, make fun of us old time Fedi people that want slower, more intentional, social media, but I simply have to know from the crew that want an audience more than a community. I’m currently caught in a never-ending spam wave. If administrators and otherwise just let this continue to happen, there are a large number of people that would just defederate your instance because of the spam. I genuinely want to know how can you think that people would tolerate massive amounts of spam waves just so you could have an audience? #Fediverse #MastoAdmin
