@PNW_Michelle I recently read a short sci-fi novel self-published by a polytheist blogger that I'm still thinking about. The protagonist is a soldier (the conflict is not the center of the story and never deeply explained, with the worldbuilding left to the cultural and social sides). She's trying to reconnect with her sister, iffy about her duty, drawn by the mountain goddess, and haunted by a friend/former comrade who was killed. Haven't found it in a library, so:
