@jsstaedtler Here the standard practice is to always message someone before calling, just a simple "you have a min" or "are you available?", regardless of status, wth the exception of DnD of course.
Also setting your status to busy really doesn't seem to stop anyone from messaging me here.

@jeff My problem is with "context switching," where my mind is occupied entirely with one subject, and switching to a different one is embarrassingly slow. If you schedule a future meeting with me, I'll have time to put my brain in gear. If you call me out of nowhere and ask me about that thing I literally configured 2 days ago, I will not remember it until I look at the documents or else mentally retrace my steps.
And of course, switching back to my original task is just as frustrating
