I present: the impossible moon photo

But it was really cool last night, low to the horizon making it large and orange, and its current phase making it just a sliver.

I didn't think much about this little snek when I printed him, just a quick 35min print, but I've been fidgeting with him all day, such a fun and cute little guy.

Ah yes, getting my news from YouTube recommendations as usual.

This one is interesting because it's very recent, and hasn't actually happened officially yet.

Today is particularly cold (-9°c ish) and is quite dry, the plumes coming from the Portlands Energy Centre (natural gas power plant) is also quite intense today.

Huh, there was a very interesting cloud today, it was almost like a mushroom cloud, but it was coming from exactly where Niagara Falls is, so it's probably just the mist from the falls causing some interesting atmospheric effects on this cold day.

Photo obviously didn't turn out great, so I highlighted the shape in red in the second picture, in person it was quite distinct.

I work on a lot of projects alone, so pretty much, although quite a few of them have policies that require a 2nd approver, which usually ends up being my manager who I know doesn't even look at the changes.

I also took quite a few stills when I was in Mexico, a lot of these I am quite happy with.

I'm forcing myself to post this because far too many times I've sat on timelapses because I don't think they're "good enough", and TBH I'm not really happy with any of these timelapses, with the exception of maybe the astro ones.

Great video of you live in Ontario.

The beginning is also relevant to anywhere looking to build new highways.

An interesting article about lost photos from the film to digital transition era of Camaras. I noticed this same thing when I scanned and archived all my families photos, but my mom was actually really good at archiving digital photos since our first digital camera, so we have all those. Rather the gap in our photo history is the transition to phone cameras, a lot of those early smartphone photos are just gone now because the same backup and archival processes were not followed, and it was a time before cloud backups.

Ubiquiti finally announced their long Rumoured NAS. Even though I'll probably never use it, I'm still fairly excited for this as another competitor to Synology. Same business model too, you buy the NAS hardware, and the software is free to use. The hardware is also surprisingly affordable at C$700 without drives, a Synology would be C$2K.

TrueNAS is still more powerful, but it's not user friendly at all.

I took quite a few pictures and timelapses of the Aurora last night, I got some good images, but being honest you really need to show the motion, so of the 3 timelapses I took this was the best one.

This largely came down to the time I took the timelapse, they come and go much more than I expected. Still very good for being right downtown in a large city.

They actually have a Sable art book as well, I almost got it, and just now I found out that they even had a promo code for it, but it ended yesterday.

If I'm being honest though, I'm not sure I liked Sable enough to buy an art book of it. I'm also not sure how well Sable would work for an art book, it's definitely a unique style, but it's also quite simplistic.

Damn, more money I'm obligated to spend, 'cause Outer Wilds is the greatest game ever made.

This art book actually looks insane, and the deluxe version includes the poster set I've wanted from the official store forever, but they've always been sold out (I'm jelly of Scott manley because he has them in the background of all his videos).
