Toot

Haven’t been able to drink coffee in a couple weeks. The COVID seems to have reconfigured my sense of taste so my once favorite coffee now tastes like charcoal mixed with petrochemicals. I was accustomed to drinking several cups a day. 😩☕️

Trying to be grateful.

I actually made a somewhat tepid resolution to “cut down a bit” on the coffee. My protector god heard my half-hearted prayer and said, oh I can help you with that. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

@impermanen_ ugh we couldn't handle coffee after covid for several weeks. It did taste normal again in not too long.

Rest tons. Tons and tons and tons. Do not push past your energy envelope. Do not stretch. Do not think you are building tolerance. Just rest. (This was the advice given to me, including with data, and I took it, and ended up getting my life 100% back after a month where I was the sickest I have been in a very long time)

@jnl yeah, I’m probably not resting enough. Body has been like “oh you finally got rid of that fever and excruciating muscle pains and feel some energy coming back? Then how about we start with the nausea and migraines every morning?”

@impermanen_ That sucks I’m sorry. I had something similar happen with bananas. I always eat bananas and during and after Covid they didn’t taste good to me at all. I was off them for several weeks but it did go back to normal eventually. It’s so weird.

Hopefully you’ll get your taste for coffee back.

@impermanen_ I can appreciate your gratitude but that sucks. I'm not even a coffee drinker. Lol. I hope you find another beverage that brings you joy and a jolt. Lol.

@impermanen_

Similar here with the coffee. For about a month after having covid (but, strangely, I don't think it was the case during the illness), coffee just smelled like "burned." It tasted OK, though.
