Lightweight object detection from one of the primary #OpenDroneMap devs. Just "pip install" and you're up and running with some basic models. Or add your own onnx. Works on older hardware; no GPU required. @sarahdalgulls check it out https://community.opendronemap.org/t/geodeep-lightweight-ai-object-detection-library/23173

@coreysnipes @sarahdalgulls Really interesting to me right now. Not sure when I'll have any time, but I definitely want to check this out. I'd love something that could identify trees/forests which this appears to do, and also houses & building foot prints. That would get 90% of what I'm dreaming of at the moment. Oh, and hopefully it could process jpg or png, not just geotiff, let me worry about the coordinate mapping. I've been fiddling with draping google/bing textures over SRTM terrain in panda3d/python and it looks quite nice already, but adding some 3d object decorations would be [chef's kiss emoji]

@clolsonus @sarahdalgulls I need to spend some time with it myself, but it seems ready to accept more/different models, so hopefully it can be pretty easily extended. Those drapes look great!

@coreysnipes @sarahdalgulls Thanks, I have been trying to slowly build up my uav devel ecosystem, getting jsbsim standalone running, being able to connect to a nice quality visual system (and x-plane and flightgear are options as well.) I flew my whole code base in the late fall, but weather/schedule has kept me from flying again. I'm running on a pure teensy-4.1 cpu and plan to spin my own simple diy board at some point. I know ardupilot and px4 and pixhawk all exist (and things like cesium and google earth) but it's so much more fun and interesting to try to figure this stuff out myself.
