I guess January 2025 is the time of my life when Bandcamp finally 'clicked' for me.

I just spent some (fairly reasonable) amount of money on PLENTY of music I've already been in love with for years.

And I completely forgot that lovely feeling of OWNING some music in my life, even if it's digital.

And since now I kinda want to build my own streaming platform, I guess that makes another compelling use case for a NAS. Maybe 2025 is the year I finally get one.

@lukem I'm very happy that mainstream-ish bands release their stuff on BC, I just grab the archive and scp -r album hive:/media/muczoshit/music and bang! a new music has appeared on all my devices. :)

@lukem it’s worth noting that, in a pinch, the Bandcamp app has very usable streaming and downloads. At least it does on iOS, I assume Android is similar.

@lukem Yeah, owning the music one listens is really cool.

I especially like it, when I listen to it on my FLAC player. On the phone, I tend to still use streaming more, but that probably also still has to do with my FLAC library being not that big.

Qobuz has also been cool to get some more mainstream music into my library, in addition to good stuff from Bandcamp.
