Listening to the album "Sun, Salt and Time" by Bruce Cockburn today. Record is over 50 years old, but it is perfect for addressing my stress today. Bruce is a Canadian treasure.

@alan Bruce took a lot of heat when that song was released but given current circumstances I'd say it has aged rather well.

@Jgmeadows I think it reflects the Canadian character, as a certain jerk on the other side of the border might soon find out. I use our national sport to illustrate this. We're happy to play rough but fair, but cross the line and the gloves hit the ice and we're coming for blood. Springsteen's song reflects that ethos too.

@Jgmeadows I mean for chrissakes, the only words that have come out of Doug Ford's mouth that I have EVER agreed with were his response to this absurd 51st state suggestion. There's little more telling than that when it comes to Canadian unity.

During the cold war I said that if Russian tanks ever started rolling down Yonge Street, I'd be one of the people crawling through shit-filled sewers for the purpose of putting an anti-tank mine under a manhole cover. I may not be that young anymore, but my resolve to defend my country remains just as strong.
