@alan LMAO... I did an experiment one day with a nice hopeful post and a big angry anti-FB post back-to-back and the hopeful one got buried while the angry screed got all the clicks. FB doesn't care if you hate them as long as you keep bringing the eyeballs.
Which is why I stopped.

@susankayequinn Yup. I stopped posting anything but the occasional update about the time I made Mastodon my primary platform. I've used either my own page or a group as my home for several years, which means I never ever ever see the feed (or the ads). Recently if I leave it on my page it has started redirecting me to the feed after an idle period, so now I start a post like "tyreuythfd", which stops the redirect. All of my non-personal posts are references to stuff off-site (with the link in the comments, not the post), and every platform including my website says some version of "if you want to interact, find me on Mastodon or get my newsletter."
They want to keep eyeballs on the platform, I'm doing all I can to draw them away.

@susankayequinn @alan ??? I am agreeing with you. What's the issue?
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from jvkus@infosec.exchange
@jvkus The information you reference is tangential and can be seen as an attempt to steer the discussion in a direction that is more relevant to you than it is to us. Nevertheless, when you hop in on a thread and the originator of the thread requests that you cease posting on it, the prudent thing to do is to cease posting.
Also, if you must respond, it would be wise to remove Susan from the response.

@susankayequinn I wish I could delete mine, but it's on all my business cards because I'm too broke to set my website back up. (Looked into Etsy but someone is using my company name already. Conundrum.)

@Lironah Linktree is very nice and you can always hand write the correction on the business cards :)
