Since I work at a startup, I've been thinking it would be awesome to have some equity in the company. But we're also not public right now. Maybe I could ask after I've been here a few months? Is that rude or something, or am I asking too much?

??????????

Maybe possibly might get a first round with a startup in Denver that would require me to relocate. Company mission is one that is personally meaningful and I love Colorado so I'd be excited about it.

But I'm already stressed about maybe moving lol. What if my furniture gets damaged in transit? I bought some nice (and hopefully durable) things so it'd kill me to replace them. How long will I have to pack and move everything? Should I rent or buy? I have no clue how long I will end up staying in Denver. Am I ready to leave all my friends behind? What about my partner? Will I be able to keep up my workout routine? I feel bad about leaving behind my mom. :( Autism did not plan to leave Chicago until in two years' time.

Stressed about technical interviews. I am worried I'm going to be asked about a piece of trivia I don't know the answer to. I interviewed with Nintendo once for an internship and was asked what an anonymous namespace was in C++... Never heard of that concept before that interview.

I coded a website in React, and also fiddled with it quite a bit from my previous job but I suppose I am going to have to know what MVC architecture is?? Maybe??? How does everyone feel about technical interviews? #jobhunt #interviews #programming

Doing my debugging the painfully slow way, by adding print statements in the code, rebuilding the container, and rerunning it.

I'll figure out how to set up step debugging later. Argh.

...Okay, breakpoints aren't being triggered. Did I set the entry point wrong? I want to say no. This is preexisting code I yanked from GitHub, which has been tested to work with Docker.

So, maybe the container isn't getting launched???? Then what is VSCode connecting to? It says it's connected to something, but docker ps output is empty. wtf is it attaching to

After some time finagling with the Dockerfile and launch.json, figured out that the reason why my step debugging wasn't connecting was because the port wasn't opened on my machine. Quick iptable edit and now it's connecting. Yay!

I feel like every step towards getting this damn thing deployed leads me down new research rabbit holes. The bottom must be somewhere.

Guess I'm finally learning how dockerfiles actually work. At my previous job, I just looked at them but never really futzed with them myself. #docker #programming

I really miss JetBrains's debugging capabilities. Would've been useful; I'm trying to figure out how this Go program works. #golang #vscode #programming

I could also be overlooking existing tools.

Six years ago, I remember trying to install GPU drivers on Linux for my laptop, which has a hybrid graphics system. I recall that I could not get it to work because hybrid installs were just screwed due to some specific bug.

Does anyone know if that's been fixed since then?

Screenshot of my progress on my personal web site. Still have to edit/add some assets and fix other stuff. And more CSS work to finish on later portions of the page. Not really a front-end dev, but the artist in me wants to make it pretty. :D #programming #design

Steady progress on my personal site. Saturday perhaps will be the day of completion.

I'm thinking of adding a fun "hacker mode" to it, too. After I finish making the base site pretty. It'll be cool, I promise. By the way, does anyone have any recommendations for a code template for a blog, or something? Thinking of firing up a separate blog site. Something that looks professional. #programming #webdev

Saw a video on the capabilities of the newest image generation tools. Harder to detect fakes now (obviously, expected). Frankly, it's depressing and makes me wonder why I even bother making art. The big point for me is to reach skill mastery, so that I can go toe-to-toe with top industry professionals. As a hobby, because it amuses me.

But capitalism is not known for valuing human creative expression over cheap and efficient content spam. I could write essays on my gripes with all of that. Who's going to give a shit about my work when a soulless generation matches its quality to the layperson? Who will want to hire me and pay a fair rate? Especially given that the internet already massively underestimates how much custom art should cost. #art

Y'all, I am currently trying to figure out some open source projects I can start contributing to that are related to application security. Or maybe just info sec in general. Anyone have any suggestions?
