Toot

Just a reminder of something I discovered recently on here - you can block keywords, phrases and hashtags. You can set them to not appear at all or to come up as hidden posts that you have to purposefully click/tap to expand.

Give it a go, if nothing else just to hide all of the awful so you can view stuff if and when you're ready to...or not at all.

It isn't cowardice, it's self care ❤️

@deathlibrarian True! Mastodon's filters are much better than any other I've seen.

You can group words and phrases under a title, so you'll know what's muted and decide if you want to click through.

You can filter in Home and lists, Notifications, Public timelines, Conversations, and/or Profiles. (Be sure to check at least one.)

You can set an expiry time to filter overly busy words for a while, then allow them again.

@deathlibrarian I filtered out the monsterdon tag because my Sundays were flooded with people really excited about movies I wasn't there to watch :MarioFlop:

@KeytarCat @deathlibrarian I've done that, too, but my monsterdon filter expires so I need to revive it weekly, depending on how overwhelming and/or interesting the comments are.
