Maybe he thinks that if he keeps people up in arms about immigrants they won't notice he doesn’t have plans to lower their grocery prices.

MAGA doesn’t care if someone came here or is here legally. They don’t want non-white immigrants, period, no matter how they got here.

Maybe this could take a higher profile in people’s field of attention than an app ban.

Donald Trump promises mass deportations, history shows they could disproportionally target US born children |

While Trumps angers Greenland, Panama, Canada, TikTok users (remember, he signed the tiktok ban Aug 2020), health authorities (RFK jr) and Blue states, amidst the confusion Project 2025 is steadily and swiftly marching into place.

@TonyStark

The horrors these deportations will cause are almost unfathomable to me. I naively thought this was something reserved for history books - ones that haven't been scrubbed clean of things that may make kids that look like me uncomfortable, at least.

This weaponized hatred will surely increase grocery prices. We know how much 'cheap' labor immigrants provide to US agriculture. But hated of the "other" is, unfortunately, a stronger driver than economic self-interest, it seems.

@FantasticalEconomics Many immigrants also provide more than cheap labor. This whole situation is going to be devastating.

@TonyStark @FantasticalEconomics it'll crater the economy and cause a lot of people to lose their jobs and then their houses. Literally.

At which point billionaires and corporations will swoop in to buy the houses (and businesses) for pennies on the dollar exasperating the existing housing crisis further and enriching the billionaires and corporations even more.

It's not an accident. This is the plan.

This sounds far fetched, however so does Trump and Project 2025 so...

I wonder if many migrants will be moved to red states to work on industrial farms....a throwback to the southern plantations.

Controlling food would help control blue states. CA produces the most food but it's having water problems.

@SnowshadowII @TonyStark @FantasticalEconomics A lot of CA's water problem is because of corporate farmers growing Almonds primarily for export to China. Trees are thirsty, & you have to water them the same in drought years as in good years, while with veggies, you can plants more drought tolerant ones in dry years.

@samhainnight Good point, Samhain. trees often do require more water.; it's one of the reasons why some farmers in BC have been moving from fruit trees (orchards) to vegetable growing.

California already has strong laws that protect migrants from federal malfeasance. Our Attorney General has prepared a number of lawsuits in anticipation of trump's policies, and those will be filed immediately.

Businesses will not sit silent as our crops rot in the fields.

The red states and people who barely live paycheck to paycheck will be crushed by these policies.
