Which writing implement makes your own #handwriting look best?
Edited to emphasise: HANDWRITING. I thought this was unambiguous.

@xahteiwi Nothing can make my handwriting look good any more, it’s been going downhill since I was 16
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from benjamingeer@piaille.fr
@benjamingeer Note I said "best" which is relative/subjective, not "good" which would be absolute/objective. 😀

@xahteiwi gel pen.
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from bigjsl@aus.social
@bigjsl Right, isn't that just a ballpoint pen with a different kind of ink though?
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from xahteiwi@mastodon.social
@xahteiwi @bigjsl IMO a good (easy rolling) gel ballpoint is more than "just a ballpoint". The difference is stark.

@xahteiwi Invisible Ink makes my handwriting look best.

@xahteiwi [x] keyboard
I am faster on a keyboard a lot, I can concentrate better and the result is readable and as a bonus searchable. I make it a point to use keyboards and not use any kind of pen.

@isotopp I don't know what you wrote this with, but (a) it doesn't address the question and (b) I fail to parse the last sentence.

@xahteiwi Edited (with a proper keyboard).

@isotopp @xahteiwi Which, even though it's a tangent, brings me to an "unsolved problem" in my life.
I also type much better on keyboards, but I often want to take notes while mobile. Taking out a wireless keyboard is terrible, swiping/typing on a touch screen isn't great either (and at the very least requires clean up later).
It's he last scenario where I occasionally still carry paper & pencil.

@larsmb @isotopp Those were the days. https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:HTC_Desire_Z_-_with_keyboard_open.jpeg#mw-jump-to-license
(Though also my eyesight was better then, allowing me to actually read on the tiny screen.)
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from henryk@chaos.social
@henryk @isotopp Yes, mobile entry is basically impossible without looking at the screen these days.
(Though, hm, I guess a "full screen ''keyboard''" that accepts global gestures might possibly ...? Something to look into.)
I guess most people would now use "voice notes", which alas suck when taking meeting notes etc. The promised subvocalization from sci-fi is still missing.

Would be even better if it was one handed.

@larsmb I used an older version for a while and it is pretty nifty, but I didnt use it regularily enough to become really fluent with it @darix @henryk @isotopp

@xahteiwi [X] anything digital where I don't have to write, but type. Aka: keyboard.

@xahteiwi Pencil, not soft though, but Druckbleistift.
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from larsmb@mastodon.online
@larsmb Interesting; I use a mechanical pencil too but I make a point of using soft (B grade) leads.

@xahteiwi I'm a HB(/F/H) person.
But I also almost never "draw" anything except a few lines, and my handwriting is "messy", and still influenced by the years of using Palm Pilot glyphs, so I write block letters rather than cursive if I want to have any chance of reading my own notes.

@xahteiwi Fountain pen EF combined with Diamine ink. Yes, I tried a lot 😇
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from netzwerkgoettin@konfigurationsmanufaktur.de
@netzwerkgoettin "EF" as in "extra fine", or does this stand for something else?

@xahteiwi Nope, „extra fine“ it is.

@xahteiwi Keyboard - I cannot produce readable output by hand in acceptable time.
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from masek@infosec.exchange
@masek You did notice that I wrote "handwriting" and that I chose the word "best", rather than "good"?
=> More informations about this toot | More toots from xahteiwi@mastodon.social
@xahteiwi Yes, but best is not a word I would apply to any kind of handwriting of mine. It is like asking, which pile of poop smells best. I will not select any pile on that question.
I was missing a „Doesn’t Matter“ (or similar) option.

@masek Inspired by the "keyboard" crowd, I have added item #6 to my pinned toot on my other account.

@xahteiwi I voted ballpoint, but that is the tool that I have the most experience with. I have never used a brush pen, and I never graduated past "beginner" fountain.

@xahteiwi after quite some time I rediscovered writing notes and thoughts. Getting a fountain pen and then some ink was the reason to stick with it. And that’s how my writing improved

@xahteiwi left handed here. I love the IDEA of fountain pens but they don’t work for lefties.
