I want to see a local ice cream truck put on snow tires and drive around selling hot chocolate, shovels and sidewalk salt.

@Chrishallbeck I used to work at a grocery store. We sold the most ice cream when it was snowing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Chrishallbeck Put a snow plow on the front, too, so you can get around, then run the ice cream truck song and sell to people that weren't prepared for the snow.
I think this might actually be a good business model, to make use of ice cream trucks during the winter.

@Chrishallbeck
Seriously, no joke! Eminently practical and an excellent way to make money in one of the ice cream off-seasons.

@Chrishallbeck there's a shaved ice truck in my neighborhood that converted to a coffee truck for the winter.

@Chrishallbeck I saw one the other day selling cider.

@Abandofan @Chrishallbeck Hot chocolate, coffee, tea, cider... maybe donuts and muffins. Even if it hasn't snowed a café on wheels could be popular.
Cruise by transit stops in the morning, especially ones not near a coffee shop or deli. Oh, I would have appreciated that some mornings when I was still working!

@Chrishallbeck Excellent idea!
It reminds me of when I was an American Red Cross volunteer. We had Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) that did much the same, but serving meals and often distributing cleanup kits (mops, buckets, etc.) for free. But a paid version would work very well in non-emergency situations, especially in places where snow is rare and not everyone has shovels or salt.
A couple of videos about ERVs:
