@durchaus Yes, if you search for something else the Thing gets jealous and reappears. But you have to be really cautious not to inadvertently look for the Thing while you are searching for something else.

This reminds me of the time my coworker and I got a bunch of copies of Japanese woodblock prints and put them up around the office with fake museum placards featuring fantastically twisted captions beside them. We thought it was hilarious. I think all our other coworkers thought we were insane. (We were both in the art department but shared space with tech people.)

This should totally become a Mastodon game: caption the artwork for the museum display!
