So I joined an activist group here in Denmark and I've heard of the most Northwestern European thing in my life when it comes to their love of insurances ...

They have activism insurance ... for those who get arrested and the insurance pays your court fees ... simply amazing

Remembering reading an article about what it was that differentiates successful CEOs from us ordinary mediocre people. It's because these great men that innovate and change the world, you see, simply move past their failures. I remember while I was doing my Bachelor's degree, I remember trying to look up to successful people to try to motivate me. So I've been advocating all this tech privacy and leaving Facebook for a while to my friends. Today one sent me a meme about Zucc accepting fascism eagerly and I got a whole "I told you so" moment out of it and the result?

It didn't feel that satisfying ... because the world is going to go down a very dark road.

I wonder if this is how most people got their I told you moments before, getting to say it to their buddies right before getting executed. Pretty grim tbh. I'd rather have been wrong

Just had a quick 5 minute peak at LinkedIn after the holidays and holy shit, was hit with a massive wave of depressive emotion.

I'd deleted all social media (besides fedi) for privacy reasons and tbh, I'm all the more happy for it. Those things are engineered depression machines. LinkedIn is the last bastion of that world holding out and it's because I'm aggressively unemployed.

These platforms are genuine evil and should really just be banned outright

So I'm a few days late with watching all the #honeyscam videos because of, you know, Christmas.

Not that I have, I'm quite surprised something like this took so long. I'd seen Honey ads and my immediate reaction was that this seemed too good to be true. Also so many people were saying that it "made you money" which isn't how discounts work that it was definitely a massive red flag for me.

All just goes to show that using the internet actively avoiding all this stuff just saves you in the end

Like, it's not even that far off since they've been firing people like crazy. But at least there was an expectation that the AI will get better.

I'm saying now they KNOW it won't but have resolved to just lower everyone's expectations

Then they'll make money by selling the AI services to all the media companies and make it inaccessible for regular people. So not only will AI slop be the norm but regular art will be dead
