Dear #Waymo : Are your cars allowed to rest in the neighborhoods? (uber's are, but you guys?)

I get a thrill every time I see a Waymo in SF. Really.

But I don't see them hanging out in legal parking spaces-- which I would think would be more energy efficient as you wait for a ride request.

I know there are depots (and loved @via ' streaming of one). you could leave a legal parking spaces if someone wanted it. At least you saving energy, money, and wear.

And being closer to requestors...

Oh, Yes! the killer app is to have a legal-parking-spot finding service. oh oh oh, I want that! (and if it could be car-aware so it could say small car here, large car there...)

@eatham @via Robo-taxi service that has been running in SF with such frequency that it seems almost normal to see driverless cars on the street.

@brewsterkahle they do hang out in street parking in more suburban neighborhoods! The ones in phoenix do this
