Inspired by @tom, just published the first weeknotes for my team at work. I can already tell this will be so good, why didn’t I do it sooner!

@timriley @tom What sort of things are you including from a work perspective?

@maxwheeler @tom I’m just going into this to try and tell “the story of the week”, so anything that makes that cut.
Progress, detours, unanticipated work, important technical things that others might want to know.
The readers I have in mind: our VP, other managers, and our future selves when we need to remember why something took so long 😄
Keep in mind here I’m still just basking in the glory of my first post.

@timriley Yeah, nice. We do week-planning docs that we run through on Friday and the top bit is very much this under the heading, “What we did this week”. I like the idea of it being supporting the digressions and technical learning in more detail too.

@janl @timriley I assume that Tim’s work weeknotes (like mine) aren’t public, but my personal weeknotes are at https://tomstu.art/ and you can find some good advice for writing them at work at https://doingweeknotes.com/.
