So anyway, I had this idea that everyone, particularly young people, should learn what is taught in law school.

I also had the idea that the way it is taught to young people is boring.

It wasn't until law school that I realized how interesting this stuff is.

Someone asked the age level.

I wrote at the same level I wrote for California appellate justices 😂

Okay, it's the level just before kids start reading adult-level books.

Adding: The reason I think the way it is generally taught is boring is that it's watered down and people are not given context.

I saw a kids book once that said, "you have the right to a jury trial!" Why would a kid care?

But after you read about the Zenger trial in the American colonies juries make sense as a way for the people to resist a tyrant.

“I wrote at the same level I wrote for California appellate justices 😂 …it's the level just before kids start reading adult-level books.”

No matter how difficult the field, I think that’s the way the great masters of any subject write. No one has really improved on Strunk and White.

@Teri_Kanefield @mastodonmigration

Plenty of adults barely at that level of reading comprehension that could use this.

@Teri_Kanefield

Not a surprise at all. Kids and appellate justices both appreciate a good story.

@Teri_Kanefield So of course you've seen this, but Schoolhouse Rock is the first thing I saw that made the boring "Constitutional System" interesting when I was in 4th grade.

Maybe next :

I can't make bail, so I'm sittin' in jail

And I'm hoping my peers, all agree I can sail

@Teri_Kanefield This. Watching Perry Mason made being a lawyer interesting. Finding the real killer. Freeing the innocent.
