She moves in mysterious ways
I don’t have u2 earwyrms often, especially what I consider later material. Eager fan during first 3 or so releases until mass approval and wide success spoiled my mojo, with occasional spikes of interest later

Sun has been out 3-4 hours and a distant suburban rooster is still crowing his head off, 5 or six times a minute.
He usually just makes a short morning pronouncement, than clamps shut.
What gives? Is he horny?
I wonder what’s different today.

I feel I should have chosen lower tier, more specific choices. That’s fine though- just list the others you may have chosen Amazon Prime wharever. Do you subscribe to 4 or more, or settle for fewer?

Please. If you run a restaurant, do not train your waitstaff to explain food unless specifically asked to do so by your diners. Do not allow waitstaff to kneel beside your table and introduce themselves and explain the restaurants mission.
If they want to mention the days specials, or dishes the restaurant is out of, that’s fine.

Pick 3, and/ or reply with others. I just pulled these off the top of my head and can only list 4. I would have included Criterion if I could post more choices.
This is a multiple choice survey lasting a week through January 31. Please boost for a decent sample

Vulture Capitalists. Hustle Bros. Bribeable politicians. Speculative flippers driven to a dog eat dog lifestyle feeling it as their only survival choice. People seeing buildings as a short term investment tax shelter or money laundry rather than a home. Increased tension as the chaos drives more to crime and guns and distrust. They feel threatened because they are, as the fear and greed of faceless strangers gobbles them up. They feel cornered because they are. It’s a plague of locusts

I read Douglas Adams Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy as it was written and published as books. Very Smart Parody, probably merely considered as straight farce by many.
But only the past decade or so has the framing element of a bulldozer outside the door resonated as a real existential threat as I’ve watched the closest big cities, full of memories, very real to me, decimated by the mindless speculation of outside developers, not from the needs or desires of its inhabitants.

I want to thank everyone who didn’t act like a deer stuck in headlights and freeze up and do nothing for the past 6 days as I know for a absolute fact many of you did you did absolutely nothing. But we need to keep moving and living, despite the new hellscape; life must go on regardless.

You see the big papers trying to occasionally agree that shit has hit the fan, but people have stopped reading them because they are complicit in this shit. They had one job…
They will never regain trust they held for 100 years or more.

There are quite a few inexpensive devices doing the same these days, but 10 years back or so there was a plug that you placed in your cars diagnostic port that would send the codes to your phone to tell you exactly what tripped the alert lights on your dashboard via bluetooth.
Worked great for a couple of years, Then the devs decided they needed to make it a subscription service instead of one that came paid with the device and bricked their app. Went out of business.
Greed.

I’ve discovered that the style of shoe I used as my standard for dress business casual throughout my fifth decade is now the standard bearer generic prototype for that segment at Walmart.
It’s sort of like a reversal of what became Vans, which was once the standard ultracheap canvas top slip on sneaker you could only find at discount stores. Another standard that I wore at least a decade.
I wore a particular pair of Doc Martins for a full decade once because they were built to last. Once.

Back in the oughts (before 2010) there was a ‘browser’ built to corralling all your various social feeds in one place. The browser logged in to all your feeds for you, and presented you a dashboard of new activity. Flickr still had cache, Facebook and Twitter were new. I think I think Murdoch had already murdered MySpace, but Blogger blogs might have had a section if you needed it.
It seemed to have disappeared rather quickly. Did the silos close off their feeds? What killed it?
Who killed t

I’m Fahrenheit raised born & acclimated. I feel that with some level of confidence, I could probably judge the temperature in ten degree groups. Such as, it’s in the 20s, 30s, 40s, ….90s.
I’m not sure if a similar sense is developed for the centigrade acclimated. You might know zero, our 32, as water freezes, 22°c our 72, a comfort zone, 38°c our 100, a feverish body temp.
But does decimal number system play into your how you group ‘comfort climate’? 4 c zones to Fahrenheit’s 10 zones?
