I had to start reminding myself yesterday that all these things we fear aren't going to happen right away. There's still a few months til the Angry Orange walks to the podium to take the "oath", and time to maybe get some perspective, reflect, and find ways we can make others' lives easier.
I find it ironic that the supporters of the party that clamored for small government the most are gonna be praising the ever-widening government presence in their lives, yet the rest of us will be living to help each other in our smaller communities and hoping to keep the big govt out.

Discovered Metric here on Mastodon and as I posted many of the song titles seem quite apt for this time of post-election stress. Examples: Speed the Collapse and Days of Oblivion. Books: novels, bios, history. TV & movies. Watched Idiocracy on Disney+ last night: seemed especially apt.

Still trying things out. It doesn't help that I'm frantically trying to improve my tech knowledge so I can work online from home more often while all this mess is going on. I'm trying to incorporate meditation into my routine, redo my exercise schedule, & write in my journal again. I've been fighting a migraine for days now and I know if I don't calm down, I'll end up in the hospital.
What I'm trying to do is educate myself some more while on the Fediverse & think about things I can do in my heavily Red area, a place so red that there are no out and about democrats or liberals (they probably got harassed like me in 2020) in case folks need help or some compassion. But I will likely have to do things mostly online in between my jobs, one of which I'm going to try and get out of if I can make a living online (trying NOT to be a recluse again, but my good nature & desire to be pleasant to customers at work is evaporating).

I just recently (Tuesday?) started reading a book called No Bad Parts, about a therapy called Internal Family Systems. At first it seemed hokey but it's growing on me.
In that framework, I'm admitting to myself that I am really afraid of and for the future. Actively trying to not be "in denial" seems to help.
