Remember, no matter how breathless the reporting is Trump isn’t doing anything at all surprising today. He’s creating havoc, acting dangerously, spewing hatred — as we knew he would. It is apt to be disgusted and scared, but not startled. Don’t let him or the reporting throw you more than they should.

Democracy Forward spearheads legal actions for a consortium of pro-democracy groups, several of whom are named plaintiffs along with CREW. The suit shows the value of sophisticated pro-democracy legal actions, though of course with the federal judiciary and Supreme Court riddled with Trump minions, we can’t know if rule of law will hold. 2/

I’m at a wonderful chamber music concert (intermission now). When I bought the ticket, I didn’t realize the significance of the date. The music and the performance are a balm, a diversion, and a reminder of our fight for beauty as well as justice.
