[#]GoblinWeek
This is more of a bat than a goblin but the question remains:
How the fuck do you draw a goblin?

Honestly, at this point, if you're still actively using platforms like facebook or twitter or any of the other ones, you're supporting fascists.
even if you're on those platforms complaining and yelling at fascism it still benefits the fascists that own it.

So…. Like…. We’re all just gonna go full on fascism now? Fantastic.
Time to prep for the alocalypse I guess.

I don't know why i have this absolute obsession with C. even though i'm really really really bad at it, i'm obsessed with it, with wanting to be good at it. even though it's an absolute pain.
C itself is relatively simple by everything around it is just so low level and obscure for me it's soooo hard to wrap my head around it all. I don't believe that people just know everything by heart, but even knowing where and how to look for information is extremely obscure.
why couldn't i just be a dumb happy javascript developer? why must i be obsessed with C and fundamentals so much??

The internet is going to shit so fast. everyone is feeling the enshitification so hard, not just tech nerds. and with all signs pointing to it only getting worse rather than get better, i believe (and have bene for a couple of years now) that there will be a mass exodus of the internet as we know it.
there will come a breaking point where people will just no longer use the internet as we know it today. it will be reshaped into something healthier, something more invisible. something that can fight the corporate takeover that has happened and prevent it form ever happening again.
when it happens i'll be sitting here watching it happen and listening to this

I wish i could just love vscode and get rid of this burden of trying to make everything else behave like vscode instead
say what you will, there's a looot of reasons to not use vscode, but usability is NOT one of them.
the thing just works for 80% of anyone's needs and if you don't agree then you're just in denial.
I love emacs and i love vim and i hate vscode, but the editor i use the most at work is, and i think will remain, vscode.

Calm the F down. That type of manipulative language is way over the line for a language teaching app.

you can say, things are getting pretty serious... :D
I'm sure I've indulged in this before but, there's something so nice about lisp languages. so natural, so... human.
Lisp is what I imagine the ancient greek philosophers would've used if they had computers.

I feel like I’ve been severely underutilizing shell scripting. I first felt this way when I started using plan9 and discovering its shell named rc and how acme leverages shell commands for its scripting. Then more recently as I wanted to build a photo gallery html page generator, I kept thinking about what language to use to generate it thinking about node or go even be brutalist and doing it in C until @neauoire shared his generator that was entirely just written with a bunch of shell commands and it really hammered it in my head how much power can be had with just some basic shell scripts leveraging the existing power of your computer and OS. truly, the unix way.

I think im going to make it my resolution for 2025 to try and step away from the corporate/commercial/algorithmic/capitalistic internet platforms and make it a mission to move more towrads free, open and shared protocols. try as much as i can to de-googlefy/de-microsoftify my life.

I love the minimalist look of plan9 but i have a hard time figuring out how to do most things on it. meanwhile the macintosh system 6/7 still feels incredibly intuitive and usable 40 years later.
would be amazing to have a hybrid betwen both
