For the month of February, much like how people do dry january as a detox from alcohol, I want to use the month as a detox from the internet... or more specifically, the internet distractions like social media, videos, games..etc.
I've held a belief that boredom is the drive for creativity, but in this modern age boredom is almost a relic of the past. there is no shortage of ways to distract yourself and consume empty brain cycles (I also believe that this is by design, that the distractions are optimized for it in order to control us but that's beside the point)
I want to really allow myself to be bored. to have no choice but to indulge in creativity as a boredom escape. whether it's music or art or coding or learning something... I want to allow myself the distraction free environment to be able to do so.
It's going to be difficult considering my day job involves being a web developer and it's too easy to just fall onto old habits. like a cigarette smoker wanting to quit while working as a cigarette rolling operator.

Merveilles! I need your advice.
Looking for a simple static html web host service that is not associated with any of the shitty evil people (or as far detached as possible) to host my new website.
Currently i was relying on github pages but i no longe want to use MS Github.

Honestly, at this point, if you're still actively using platforms like facebook or twitter or any of the other ones, you're supporting fascists.
even if you're on those platforms complaining and yelling at fascism it still benefits the fascists that own it.

So…. Like…. We’re all just gonna go full on fascism now? Fantastic.
Time to prep for the alocalypse I guess.

I don't know why i have this absolute obsession with C. even though i'm really really really bad at it, i'm obsessed with it, with wanting to be good at it. even though it's an absolute pain.
C itself is relatively simple by everything around it is just so low level and obscure for me it's soooo hard to wrap my head around it all. I don't believe that people just know everything by heart, but even knowing where and how to look for information is extremely obscure.
why couldn't i just be a dumb happy javascript developer? why must i be obsessed with C and fundamentals so much??

The internet is going to shit so fast. everyone is feeling the enshitification so hard, not just tech nerds. and with all signs pointing to it only getting worse rather than get better, i believe (and have bene for a couple of years now) that there will be a mass exodus of the internet as we know it.
there will come a breaking point where people will just no longer use the internet as we know it today. it will be reshaped into something healthier, something more invisible. something that can fight the corporate takeover that has happened and prevent it form ever happening again.
when it happens i'll be sitting here watching it happen and listening to this

I wish i could just love vscode and get rid of this burden of trying to make everything else behave like vscode instead
say what you will, there's a looot of reasons to not use vscode, but usability is NOT one of them.
the thing just works for 80% of anyone's needs and if you don't agree then you're just in denial.
I love emacs and i love vim and i hate vscode, but the editor i use the most at work is, and i think will remain, vscode.

Calm the F down. That type of manipulative language is way over the line for a language teaching app.

you can say, things are getting pretty serious... :D
I'm sure I've indulged in this before but, there's something so nice about lisp languages. so natural, so... human.
Lisp is what I imagine the ancient greek philosophers would've used if they had computers.
