EveryDay 400: Expanded the portable #algoriddim #djay rig with an #abletonmove. Lot less fiddly to get the Move synced with #djaypro as it supports #AbletonLink over wifi, whereas had to mess with audiobus routing to MIDI BPM to get the EP133 synced.

Experiment 398: Mucking about again with #algoriddim #djay rig - #novationlaunchpad mapped to decks for neural stems, beat jump, loops and one-shots. Audio routed through #teenageengineering #EP133 using #audiobus and #abletonlink on the iPhone to sync #djaypro BPM to the sampler.

Experiment 396: Testing on live line level input from EP-133 sampler - just throwing some breaks at the logo and fluid sim to see how it responds.

Previous tests using songs were playing from Spotify on the host PC.

Experiment 394: Fixed up offscreen motion render target copy CustomPass stages in build - HDRP was stripping some shaders as wasn't including forward pass. Testing the 3-band audio response (bass, mid, high) control over logo blend shapes, with motion vector fluid input.

Experiment 393: Custom pass copy for motion vectors from offscreen render camera - to control which objects input motion to fluid without causing feedback loops. Comped with controlled emissive colour output in offscreen RT to add directional control - blended in material via audio level which also controls blend shape and normal map strength.

Experiment 392: Pumped up the cloth sim once I'd figured out why the pinned verts weren't holding in place (0 weight). Split letters, each with blend shape and material to control normal map and emissive colour for the offscreen render, to control fluid input.

Tweaked fluid sim to use offscreen RT depth buffer for obstacles so that objects can stay as blockers without adding motion.

Experiment 391: Quick test of inflatable logo driven by audio. Working well enough to keep developing. Need to get back into Blender to figure out how to push the inflation cloth sim even further to get it to really pop - then need to split letters out for individual response across different frequencies for more interesting motion, maybe even get them to bob around following the fluid sim motion.

Experiment 390: Blender cloth sim for inflated high res mesh, baked to lower poly model and normal map as a shape key on original logo mesh. Imported into Unity as blend shape, utility script to control applying blend shape and also reducing down normal map when blending back to flat model.

Experiment 388: Testing the audio-reactive logos and vfx on LED stage. Had to dial down motion and add some QOL scripts so it could be enabled/disabled clean.

Audio just playing from Spotify web player in background, then comped in audio track as didn't want to blast the audio rig too loud during work hours.

Experiment 387: Previous test using audio-reactive input (Keijiro's LASP: https://github.com/keijiro/Lasp) to control vfxgraph playrate wasn't reading well, so this test plugs it through to logo mesh scaling and fluid sim input velocity. Reads better with the more immediate vfx that show sim motion - but promising enough to mess about with to wrangle better control.

Experiment 385: Old recording testing out adapted motion from depth camera - using adapted pixlpa/Andrew Benson method of pixel difference gradient, but applied to depth instead of RGB channels.

Depth buffer top left, main image the motion, right hand side is fluid sim using motion input.

Experiment 384: Metaball test based on Keijiro's GPU compute marching cubes: https://github.com/keijiro/ComputeMarchingCubes

Adapted to feed it structured buffer of positions + sizes of shuriken (CPU-side) particle system. (Not dug into vfxgraph code to see if I can direct dump a GPU-side buffer from vfxgraph system to compute). Handy as I could use particle system controls for movement, and external forces etc.

Experiment 383: Tempo sync path = #EP133 MIDI clock out - USB-C hub - iPhone - #Audiobus 3 sync in - Ableton Link - #Algorridim #Djay, so track in Djay is tempo-locked to sampler bpm (and the lame beat I put together).

Using line out from #DJ2GO on same hub to input on EP133 so ended up with noise - sorted by a cheap in-line ground loop noise isolator.

Experiment 382: Mucking about with #Algorridim #Djay on iPhone and I love the neural mix/stems - isolating drums/bass/melodic/vocals on the fly for acapellas/instrumentals from any track is fantastic tech that "just works".

Mapped stem mute/solo to the Launchpad, along with beat jump and other stuff.

[#]audioreactive vfx based on LiDAR point cloud data of a section of Manhattan, processed and exported from #QGIS.

Experiment 381: Testing audio-reactive vfx with kick/snare. The vfx had been authored/levelled for full tracks, so it was interesting to test with isolated sounds as showed a few of them weren't responding enough to bass/lower freqs from kick, which is where a lot of the energy is. Probably rolled off a lot of the bass otherwise D'n'B tracks would overload the vfx response and it would all top out.
