Great collection of mini-documentaries about the making of Still Wakes the Deep, one of the best narrative horror games IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_e8QEmdCXY&list=PLWH8qcbJ9MItcLaZKmhOTLT7S3N3cwJ6C

It seems like the main attack against #DeepSeek currently is the fact that it doesn't like to mention stuff like Tiananmen square, which is, of course, extremely uncool. But businesses do what they're told to stay in business and avoid unfavorable situations, just like Google renamed the Gulf of Mexico as Gulf of America in Google Maps because Trump wants it. 🤷

Holy crap, Doom Eternal is fun! It's at the complete opposite end of the kind of games I usually play, but it's very refreshing with a bit of pure, brain-dead carnage where I am the horror for once. Rip and tear until it is done. 😤

I keep getting ads from a company called Belzona. They make and sell these super specialized, trade-only products for repairing leaks in pipes and such, but there's something almost ceremonial about the process of using the compounds that hits some kind of ASMR thing for me, I guess. I'm almost tempted to follow their account… 🙈

So, after a bit of light spelunking into this topic, it looks like the Behavior Graph package for Unity would be a relatively easy way to start playing around with behavior trees.

Game AI, especially stalker-type AI like the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation and the monster in Amnesia The Bunker, is really fascinating to me, and I think it would be so much fun to write one and play around with it. I wonder what the easiest way would be to get started on stuff like this? 🤔

Why would anyone want to whack a fine businessman like that? I guess we will never know. 🤷

I've been working on a client-side web app to inspect and analyze arbitrary data.
It's like a lightweight CyberChef that automatically builds recipes by recursively detecting and unpacking layers of encoding and compression.
It also lets you select specific parts of the input with your cursor to focus the inspection, which is neat when analyzing data that consists of multiple parts, or for skipping non-data prefixes and data separators.

I love when documentaries show scrolling source code when it's something about hacking or technology in general, and the code is just some random PHP jQuery spaghetti with at least two XSS vulns in the 20 lines you see scroll by.

Tim Apple might have turned it into the most profitable company ever, but the quality of everything they do and make has taken a major hit IMO. Funny how capitalism works.

The weirdest shit breaks every time I update macOS. After updating to Sequoia, Spotlight no longer suggests applications, which is the primary way I launch them.
I used to install updates right away, but now I dread it and I always wait until IT Ops forces the update.
Is there a Linux distro that Just Works like macOS used to do in the good old days?

A quick note on linking to regex101 playgrounds with pre-filled values, which is pretty nifty for programmatic use:

spoopy halloween story: Lately, I've been watching a bunch of YouTube videos with people painting Warhammer 40k figures because I find it very relaxing, and it's impressive how well some people can paint those little dudes.
Now Instagram is suddenly showing me Warhammer 40k stuff out of the blue. I'm slightly creeped out by this, considering I've only watched those videos on my laptop using a super locked-down Firefox with privacy add-ons and ephemeral sessions almost everywhere.
