Game AI, especially stalker-type AI like the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation and the monster in Amnesia The Bunker, is really fascinating to me, and I think it would be so much fun to write one and play around with it. I wonder what the easiest way would be to get started on stuff like this? 🤔

So, after a bit of light spelunking into this topic, it looks like the Behavior Graph package for Unity would be a relatively easy way to start playing around with behavior trees.

@michenriksen thats interesting, my wife works for a place called outlier, and they do ai training/tuning stuff - she just saw a note come across email that they're starting to ask staff about doing game recordings for doing some kind of ai npc training

@Viss that's interesting! I know a few companies are working on AI models to make NPC companions behave more like an actual human player would behave. Maybe they want to explore that space?

@michenriksen i think thats where they're going. imagine if a game like cyberpunk had npcs that werent just scripted mannequins, and had a bit more fluidity

@michenriksen yeah check out unreal engines behavior tree system. It’s pretty well designed. Easy to integrate sensors (for listening/sight etc)
