The ridiculous part of this is that I am a REALLY good employee. I'm an asset to any organization I decide to throw my weight behind. I might not know how to build a red/black btree in rust off the top of my head, but that shit doesn't matter. What I do matters, and what I do is figure things out, fix things and make them better. Another several hours of interviewing wasted, this time at sentry. They cut me after the system design interview, which is weird, I'm pretty good at system design. Probably not correlated. After 4 years of looking for work, after 25 years of successfully working in tech, the signs are really pointing to my no longer having a career in any sort of software. As a former pornographer, I find it depressing that people used to risk their lives to bring us porn (especially gay porn) and nowadays pornhub shuts down in the south and people are too dumb to just type "porntube" or "sexturkey" or any of a million other nonsense word combinations into their browser that will magically summon pornography. Even facebook is all porn (and nazi memes) now. I feel like all of our sacrifice to bring porn to the internet was in vain.

Who has a clever jig for cutting 3/4" finger joints on a table saw, no dado blade. My intention is to cut the edges of the joints, so a cut inside the right line and inside the left line of the joint. My jig would have to take the kerf width into account, so the standard block jig for finger joints on a router wouldn't work.
I'll take out the inside with a chisel. #woodworking

Making the browser the de-facto operating system for so many apps has its downsides. This week I've had a client who couldn't click on buttons near the bottom of her screen because the os was covering them with a phantom dock and intercepting any mouse clicks, and another client who simply has nothing happen when clicking on a button, and I have no idea what is getting in the way of it, but it's gonna be some weird-ass browser thing.
