Another several hours of interviewing wasted, this time at sentry. They cut me after the system design interview, which is weird, I'm pretty good at system design. Probably not correlated. After 4 years of looking for work, after 25 years of successfully working in tech, the signs are really pointing to my no longer having a career in any sort of software. It's hard not to have it affect my self esteem.

The ridiculous part of this is that I am a REALLY good employee. I'm an asset to any organization I decide to throw my weight behind. I might not know how to build a red/black btree in rust off the top of my head, but that shit doesn't matter. What I do matters, and what I do is figure things out, fix things and make them better. I guess that isn't a marketable skill.
