Sleep hacking

I am going to try polyphasic sleep, after reading and watching a few videos.

After the last 3-hour time-zone shift I never fully recovered a good sleep cycle. I find myself waking up at 4AM, forcing myself to go back to sleep, and waking again around 9 or 10, very tired and barely awake all day.

So I think it will be a breeze to just get up and take a 20-min nap or two.

Last night woke up at one, ruining my experiment... Will try again tonight.

OK, here goes. Woke up at 3:50AM before the alarm, and after initial resistance got up feeling pretty energetic -- with almost 5 hours of sleep. Aiming to nap around noon.

An hour later, ran 15min and done with coffee and breakfast.

What I love about being up early -- the quiet, and the feeling of infinite time.

If I start crashing I will just take a nap. Previously I would try to power through, thinking I would ruin my sleep cycle by napping. This time I am not concerned.

It's not yet 9AM, and I managed to move all the Gemini games to a different server (without screwing up and losing anything, I think), something I've always dreaded. Also watched a bunch of stuff in Spanish. Productivity galore. A tiny bit fuzzy, time for a coffee.

I watched a video from Thoughty2 on YouTube about this subject. Keen to know how your experiment goes. Buena suerte!

Yeah, I decided to postpone the experiment. I am not very motivated to be awake too long, as I am pretty much killing time for another week before returning to East coast, where I will be with my family and don't know if my sleep experiments will work/be tolerated...

I'll have to try again in a couple of months, when I am left alone for a while and hopefully more motivated.
