Started reading Reynard the Fox last night, and my gods the parallels between it and the Disney Robin Hood are even more pronounced than I thought.
I'd read the Disney Robin Hood used designs from a cancelled Reynard adaptation that was deemed TOO anarchic for the Hayes code.
The choices of species for each character in Robin Hood makes a lot more sense now, that's for sure.
