Okay, I think I finally understand passkeys enough to have an informed opinion on disliking them. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong about this:
- Passkeys opaquely turn your device/browser into your password manager, and MOST of the services implementing them don't make this clear (and passkey providers certainly don't, especially vis a vis portability)
- There are more legal and simple avenues for authorities to access my device or browser credentials than there are my password manager
