To my mind, open source software licensing serves to manage the tension between "software and computing knowledge are transformative things that have uncanny potential for improving human lives" and "governments and business interests will subvert this to their own ends without hesitation or consideration for how this will destroy human lives, and our entire society is organized around supporting this usage".

Respect for the notion of intellectual property simply isn't a factor for me.

You know what I probably deserve to be more proud of?

Wrangling a hackerspace into a conformant non-profit, and expanding into 8000 square feet of good industrial space in a walkable urban neighborhood near downtown locked in at $2psf for 8 years, keeping membership fees fixed and under the cost of most cell phone bills for years, and always bending over backwards to make sure every workshop could at least hold SOME seats at cost-of-materials or less for folks who needed it.

Oh my god: The State Revenue Service just sent me an email that they will be unable to issue tax refunds for the 3 weeks starting February 26th, thanks to a system upgrade.
