The way some tech people look at money breaks my fucking brain. I consider myself pretty privileged, I own a house, I don't have to worry about my needs being met, etc.
But then I remember shit like...one of the Cohost devs used to run a hotline that would read those Sailor Moon Says quotes if you called it, and they said they had to close it because it occasionally cost them upwards of $100 a day
If I made something like that and it cost me $50 even once I would shut it down immediately because it could ruin me, you were paying shit like this CONSTANTLY??? Even if $100 was a peak, were you paying $20 a day??? $10??? I couldn't even pay $5 a day for something silly like this, the first time I got a $100 charge for it I'd puke and turn it off
