Drinks industry worried about weight-loss drugs… are they really, though?

I am kind of interested in the economics of the whole weight-loss drug thing. Obviously they’re alluring, but there must be a pretty low ceiling on the proportion of the population likely to be taking them at any time, even at saturation point.

• they have to be overweight

• want to take it

• eligible for NHS prescriptions or have the money for private

• it’s not approved for long-term use, etc…
